Old School here with the final entries from the Banner Contest finalists and the final banners are looking awesome. Let's waste no time here, first up is Muffin with his final banner.
The DFG crew responded pretty strongly to this banner as did much of the web, but we just wanted to see a little bit more darkness in it than the original peice and as with all the finalists, we needed some work on the text. All in all, a really strong entry and though it has a lot of bright colors, I think it speaks to the DFG ideals. Directly below is Muffins original entry:
Up Next is Nesbet's entry:
Nesbet made a great banner, a group of Favicons and revised our blog description. All in all, one of the strongest original entries. This final version has subtle tweeks to the original image to make it a little more dramatic and fixes issues the crew had with the text. This banner originally nearly broke the tie in the first wave of entries and I am exited to see how the blog authors, local gamers and of course the DFG followers respond to this peice. Directly below is Nesbet's first entry:
Next up is the totally revamped work of Fartbush:
Fartbush, who we had wrongly called fartbrush in the beginning took our original advise, pitched it and went for a second entry all together; A balls-out move that resulted in a pretty balls-out awesome banner. Our original advise was to just move around some of the elements in the first banner and of course get the text to pop a little more. Instead, he rolled out a very strong entry for the finals. The original banner had some serious fans, so I wonder how this new banner will do with our authors! Directly below is the original entry:
All in all, some serious banner action and some serious stuff for us to consider. I have given myself and the authors just 24 hours to pick the winner and that begins now. In the meantime, I would love to hear what everyone in the blogosphere thinks of these most epic banner entries!
