Shafraz, welcome to Stunning Men and a big thank you for taking the time to do the interview.
Could we start off with talking a little about yourself and your background? You currently live in Leeds, UK ...
Well I was born in slough just outside of London but was raised in Middlesbrough. Leaving school I then joined the British Army which gave me a different outlook on life. After serving for four years and also travelling the world I then decided to become an electrician. Whilst on my course I was promoted to a manager in my part time job. It was at the start of this year February that I started to model and here I am now.
You have a stunning physique. How do you keep in shape and healthy? Do you do any sport?
I have always been an active child playing football, boxing and anything adrenalin pumping.
What are your top three favourite gym exercises and why?
DeadLift – Great for strength
Incline Chest – I find this exercise really shapes the chest
Squats – I like to feel the pain and after a heavy leg session you can feel the pain!
What’s the best form of cardio for you?
Because of my body type I rarely do cardio as I don’t have much fat naturally so I tend to superset and have less rest to keep burning fat but also producing muscle.
How do you keep motivated?
As a child I was very competitive and loved a challenge and when I was 14 I lost my mother and this had a massive effect on my attitude towards life; I became someone else, I didn’t finish school and I was going down the wrong path. So the thing that keeps me motivated is to always make sure I do my best and make my mother proud. Life is what you make it.
How do you fit training and fitness into your life? Is it a difficult thing to achieve?
A few months back I was a manager of a retail store and also pursuing modelling, I worked 45 hours a week on my fulltime job and on my two days off I modelled but I still had time to hit the gym before or after work! There is always time you just have to sacrifice your pleasures.
How did you get into modelling?
I was approached via facebook and attended an event and I enjoyed the shoot we had so decided to pursue it myself.
What do you enjoy the most about it?
The thing I like about fitness modelling is the reward you get by inspiring others to train and get fit!
How do you prepare before a photoshoot?
Before a fitness shoot I tend to adjust my diet to lower my body fat %. I also drink plenty of water and green tea.
You are a good looking guy – what do you think is your best asset?
I would probably say my green eyes.
And if you could change one thing about your body, what would that be?
Height! I would like to be 6’2”.
How do you approach a challenge?
It depends on the challenge ahead, but I grab the bull by the horns usually.
What do you do in your down time?
I like to socialise with mates by going to the pub or shopping etc I do like to cook.
Do you have any role models? People who inspire you?
Arnold, Mohamed Ali, Zyzz
Now a few quick fun questions if we may? Do you think you are a good date?
Yeah! I’m up for anything down to earth and humble.
What do you think is the secret to a good relationship?
Trust and honesty.
Are you a brief man or a boxer kinda guy?
Boxer.
What do you listen to on your iPod?
Trance, Dubstep, Rnb, Hip Hop.
Your favourite song/piece of music to play while training/running?
Nero Innocence.
What kind of movies do you like?
Action, Thriller, Comedy.
What can’t you live without?
Gym!!!!
You wouldn’t know, but I’m very good at ...
DIY.
I’m just not very good at ...
Maths.
What three words describe you best?
Dedicated, Fun, Friendly.
One last question Shafraz, where do you see yourself and what would you like to be doing in 10 years time?
I would like to see myself as a successful fitness model and hopefully I would have launched my own supplements Company.
Shafraz, it has been a real pleasure to interview you! Thank you for your time and for being a good sport. All the best for the future!
